This painting began in early January of 2020. It started out with translucent layers of gold on the base. During the months of the lock-down, I used my time to build layers of color in the background. Over this period I was determined to not let all of the negative events affect the mood of my painting. I believe there is more than enough ugliness in the world and I refuse to contribute to it with negative artworks. So, even though feminine beauty may not be so much in vogue, I stubbornly stuck with my theme and I now present my newest original oil on canvas simply entitled “Forget Me Not’. Size 40 x 30 inches. The abstract butterflies were created very simply with gold leaf. I didn’t want them to be realistic or to be defined but rather ‘suggest’ in a reflective way.
